If you follow my Fit Active Life Facebook page, you saw me chat about these pineapple mules on one of my Wednesday night #boozandblogging episodes.
Now, what makes these mules amazing is infusing your own vodka with pineapple (I have a few tips on how to do that below). No artificial flavors or colors. However, if you just can’t wait a week to make your own, there are definitely plenty of good options at your local liquor store.
These pineapple mules are sweet with a slight sour ting from the lime juice. Absolutely delish and refreshing. But be careful, one becomes “some” before you know it!
Ingredients Needed
- Juice from half a lime
- One shot (or a little more) pineapple vodka
- Splash of Ginger Beer to top off drink
- 1 TBSP of limeade
Mix it Up!
In a copper mug (this is the traditional vessel) over crushed ice, add all of the ingredients and stir until the limeade is dissolved. Garnish the mules with a lime wedge or slice of pineapple! There are SO many cute copper mugs out there now too! I love these from Target.
I’ve dropped in a few affiliate links. This means if you shop our post or site and purchase anything, we make a small commission without any additional cost to you. I really appreciate when you shop our blog, it helps keep things up and running!
And these from World Market have been on my radar since last summer! I think I love that they are a little bit nontraditional, and have a feminine handle!
There are a ton of great Ginger Beer options. I’d recommend staying away from diet versions because they have that crappy artificial taste. Nobody wants that in a drink like this!
Infusing Vodka
To infuse your own vodka, just get a bottle of your favorite brand (we enjoy Deep Eddy and Titos). I transfer about 3/4 of the bottle to a different vessel (depending on the size) with a wide mouth on it. It also needs to seal tight. Cut up a fresh pineapple and add at least a cup worth to your vodka. Close it up and let it sit at room temp for one week. Strain the vodka to take out the pineapple pieces, return the infused vodka to the bottle and store in the freezer. For a stronger flavor, repeat for one more week.
Perfect Pairs
As I was thinking about what foods pair best with this drink, I felt like something a little salty would off-set the sweetness best. I can honestly drink them with anything. 🙂 Try it with some homemade tapenade on fresh artisan bread. I think it’ll be a home run!
Cheers! Tiff
