In our house scones are a regular weekend treat, and blueberry scones with lemon glaze are right at the top of the request list! Let me say that while this post has affiliate links to my favorite scone supplies from World Market, this is not (yet) a sponsored post. 🙂
Okay, now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk scones and how you can be a total rockstar with your family or any brunch when you whip up a batch of these super quick and easy blueberry scones with lemon glaze. For real, 20 minutes tops, start-to-finish!
Blueberry Scones…and Other Flavors!
For at least five years, my go-to scone mix when I’m not making them from scratch (like these pumpkin scones) has been Sticky Fingers Bakeries. They have both regular flour and gluten-free flour based mixes. These were the flavors I picked up from World Market recently.
The Perfect Dish
Is it mandatory? No. Is it fun and beautiful? Yes! I have no problem making drop scones with these, they are just as delish. But there is something great about at triangle shaped scone that just makes me smile, especially when it’s made in a turquoise baking dish.
Those little helping hands melt my heart.
Lemon Glaze
These blueberry scones with lemon glaze are the best combo ever. Actually I’ve been meaning to make some doughnuts in this combo…I’ll come back to that! Anyway, the glaze could not be easier.
- 1 cup of confectioner’s sugar (affectionately called powdered sugar)
- Juice of half a lemon (more if your family and guests love lemon)
- Splash of cream
- A little pure vanilla extract is optional
Mix it all together until it’s smooth. You may need to add a little more cream to get it to the right consistency. Use a fork to cover the scones with glaze while they’re slightly warm, serve ’em up and enjoy!
